• INFORMING LANDOWNERS AND MSRA MEMBERS ON IMPORTANT SURFACE RIGHTS ISSUES

  • UNINVITED INDUSTRIAL USERS ON OUR LAND, PAYING AGRICULTURAL RATES AND LEAVING US THE INDUSTRIAL WASTE

The Manitoba Surface Rights Association

The MSRA was formed in 1978 and has been instrumental in ensuring that Oil and Gas Surface Rights are dealt with in a fair and equitable manner. The MSRA membership is comprised of Manitoba landowners who have oil and gas related surface leases on their property.

Negotiating a surface lease for a well site or a flow line may be every day business for a landsman but for many landowners it occurs rarely. Developing a surface lease that protects  landowner’s interests, has fair compensation levels, includes well abandonment and site reclamation clauses is a main focus of the MSRA. Not already a member of MSRA ? Please consider joining our Association.

Our main goals

  • Work cooperatively with government, the oil industry, and landowners to develop economically and environmentally sustainable practices that will benefit everyone
  • Provide landowners/MSRA members with information on various aspects of Surface Rights issues.
  • Inform and lobby government regarding mineral and surface lease ownership issues.

Become a member

The MSRA membership is made up of Manitoba landowners who have oil and gas related surface leases, pipelines or flowlines on their property. The majority of the members are landowners from the southwestern part of the province.
